Why the module approach actually works
Think of it this way: a single lamp is just a part. A module is a tool that’s ready to go. When we build a curved array, we aren’t just curving glass for the sake of it. We’re obsessing over heat density. We calculate the exact arc and the spacing between tubes so your glass hits the target temperature perfectly. No hot spots. No random cracking. Just a clean seal. One quick tip: if you go with a high-wattage shortwave lamp, keep in mind that the heat is aggressive. Make sure your cooling fans and housing can handle the rise in temperature. If they can’t, you’ll be replacing burnt-out wiring and connectors way sooner than you’d like.
Getting it into your line
These are designed to be drop-in replacements. Instead of your techs spending hours squinting at an alignment, they just bolt in the pre-assembled module. We’ve already handled the wiring and the structural supports. Plus, it kills the risk of human error during the bending process—which, as you probably know, is exactly where most quartz tubes end up breaking.
The trade-off
Is there a catch? Well, you lose a bit of flexibility. Since a custom-bent module has a specific geometry, it’s locked in. If you suddenly change your production line to a different tube diameter or a new curve, you can’t just “tweak” the module on the fly. You’ll need a new spec. But for high-volume lines? The consistency is worth it. You get the same result every single time, and your team gets their time back.
